Amrig Navigates the Blessings & Burdens of the Artistic Process Often Overlooked with His Single “Long As You Make A Hit”

Eswatini born and raised artist Amrig, who is currently in Los Angeles, is set to release his second single of 2023 titled “Long As You Make A Hit”. Following “Ford Whippin”, melodic raps that led to his highest streaming song ever in only two months of release, this new record looks to capitalize on that momentum by taking us back to his home ground, introspective raps paired with dynamic production.

The song which offers a rare perspective on how listeners don’t often consider what artists endure when creating timeless art is slated for a June 11, 2024, release.

After having released “Off-Kilter” in late 2023, a project that put his abilities on display as an MC as well as a skilled songwriter, Amrig continues to lean into his unique background being a rapper from the kingdom of Eswatini, who then spent four years in Iowa and is now based in LA. Vast experiences often allow a creative to adopt multiple perspectives and outlooks, and this is evident on this alternative hip-hop tune produced by Swazi producer “FEZI”.

The artwork features a childhood photo of the rising star reinforcing the lyrical content of the record which is the labor of love that comes with having to make a ‘hit’. He explores how he feels it’s his responsibility as an artist to fulfill this requirement regardless of the mental and emotional costs.
