After months of keeping us in anticipation, Wordz has finally dropped his long awaited debut album, Product Of A Praying Mother. The 12 track album follows the release of his and lyricist Tyson S.T’s collaborative single, Laundry Day – which was released in September of this year.
Wordz made an announcement that the album was complete in a tweet to fellow Rvbberbvnd Gvng member, Krish – just a week before the album’s release.

Considering his deep and somewhat what aggressive sound, Wordz couldn’t have chosen better features for the album. Product Of A Praying Mother features the likes of Dessy Hinds, Thato Saul,Maglera Doe Boy, Belo $alo, Maarly as well as fellow Rvbberbvnd Gvng member, A-Reece. Wordz shows of his versatility by rapping in Spitori on some of the tracks on the album. Spitori is a language developed and spoken by the black youth residing in Pretoria.
Wordz is undoubtedly a lyricist and Product Of A Crying Mother proves just that. It is soulful while being edgy and leaning towards elements of gangster rap. The album’s outro, By Mother Mary is a prayer by Wordz’s mother – corresponding with the album’s title. Product Of A Praying Mother is unarguably one of the best debut rap albums we’ve ever had in South African Hip Hop. It is definitely one for the books.
